Jazzmania is the Nashville Jazz Workshop's Annual Jazz Party and Fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the Nashville Jazz Workshop, and go to support the Workshop's mission of enriching people's lives through classes, performances, and special events for the community.

 

Jazzmania is the Jazz Party of the Year, with great live jazz from some of the city's finest musicians.

There's delicious food from Sargent's Fine Catering and complimentary wine, beer, and a Jazzmania signature cocktail courtesy of Lipman Brothers.

Jazzmania also includes a live and silent auction, with unique and desirable items such as vacation packages, tickets to top events, special dinner packages, in-home concerts, artwork by the city’s top artists, and much more. Click here to see the auction items and bid online.

Congratulations to Chester Thompson, winner of  the NJW Heritage Award, presented annually to a person who has made major contributions to the jazz community over an extended period of time. The audience rose to its feet several times, and listened raptly to video tributes from many of Chester's friends and colleagues from all over the world. In the words of former NJW Board member Kirk Whalum, "Chester sets the standard."

Music by a special 10-piece all-star ensemble of some of the NJW's finest jazz faculty and performing artists, directed by Denis Solee. Special guest: award-winning vocalist Donna McElroy, popular former Nashville resident now at Boston's Berklee School of Music.

A highlight of the evening is the NJW Heritage Award, presented annually to a person who has made major contributions to the jazz community over a long period of time. This year's (2016) Heritage Award winner was drummer Chester Thompson. Previous year's awardees were:
